Chris Meyer (LU_Lab), Jarek Nowak (FFS) and Jeff Peters (WoodWorks) discuss benefits of mass timber, nd showcase a mass timber case study, House in a Garden, which was the first CLT mass timber structure in Miami-Dade county. They discuss how using mass timber as a building material has many benefits: lessening carbon emissions, acting as a carbon sink, and how a quick erection process creates more favorable building conditions. The LU_Lab hopes to being this knowlesge of mass timber into places it hasnt been before, and to promote mass timber as an efficient and effective building material.
